What we have all lost...

Since amalgamation, Flamborough residents have lost out repeatedly. I cant begin to count the ways that the city has taken advantage of the resident tax payers and it has to stop.

Really and truly, amalgamation has caused a massive reduction in service. Previously, residents were able contact their local council to have area specific issues dealt with promptly. Now, under the "new" city of Hamilton, residents are forced to endure longer wait times, more red tape and lack of respect for their total tax dollars.

Pre-amalgamation Flamborough also saw the area receiving larger quantities of revenue from the flamborough slot program.  When amalgamation was forced upon people, it was said that things would improve for residents; services would increase and taxes would remain relative. We obviously know this is not the case.

Before amalgamation, Flamborough was able to pick and choose its services. Flamborough was in control of their own area and the proud residents were self sustaining. We now have to face increased criminal activity, with no apparent additional measures on behalf of the HPS, terrible garbage collection service (caused by a flawed collection agreement), much slower snow removal (with the exception of the main roads (done by the province)).

As I have said many times, Flamborough has gotten the raw end of the deal. While this election in October is not one for de-amalgamation, it is one for respect on your tax dollars. Amalgamation is simple an "issue". Lets fix this "issue" before it grows into a larger problem.

Lets elect a candidate that respects your tax dollars. Lets elect a candidate that understands what has been lost and understands what it will take to get things back. Together this October, elect me, Steven Knowles.
