This quote shows how out of touch the incumbent truly is. The residents of Ward 14 have a right to be upset with an increase, regardless of its size. As I have quoted in other points, ward 14 has recieved a 50 plus percent increase in taxes since amalgamation.
1.5 percent is 1.5 percent too much!
Ward 14 needs a voice that is willing to stand up for the residents instead of offering a false justification of adequate service. The incumbent's reference to snow removel is a poor attempt to deflect the true issue. Based on my conversations with tax payers and my own personal observations, Ward 14 has terrible snow removal practises from the City of Hamilton since amalgamation. The only reliable form of service for the residents of ward 14, are those covered under provincial contract.
Under my time as councillor I will not fall short for the people of this ward. Ward 14 deserves better! Ward 14 deserves reprentation that is accountable and respects the tax payers hard earned money.
